It isn’t easy to figure what you want to do right out from high school or college. And if you’re one of those, you probably have been either tagging along with your close buddies or have switched courses or majors at least once. But here are a few questions that you can ask yourself before venturing into the career world.
WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?
The answer to asking yourself what you’re passionate about is not only in something you like doing, but is also in something that excites the daisies out of you. Digging deep into yourself to find out what you’re passionate about can help skew you to the right career direction. So it could be as simple as liking music – but if you can’t make music (or sing) – at least you know what you would love to work with.
WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU?
Knowing what you are is very important in trying to make a fruitful decision in your career. There can be possibilities that in choosing the wrong type of career to suit your personality can not only stress you up but also the people that work with you or for you. So knowing if you’re an introvert or extrovert for starters can at least help determine in what conditions you’d be comfortable working in.
HOW DOES THIS JOB FIT INTO YOUR LIFE?
Maintaining a good lifestyle balance is the new “in” thing in work culture and it has been slowly gaining reputation. Having a career doesn’t mean you have to give parts of your daily or weekly routine just so you can fit in a job. You need to be clear what you can let go for your career and things that you don’t. And by doing so, can you then manage to seek a job that can fit into your lifestyle.
HOW IMPORTANT IS THE MONEY?
It is no lie that money plays a huge part in finding the right job. It is a factor that lingers especially if it’s your first job or if you have other commitments. Therefore in understanding how much you need the money at present and also in the future (depending on the lifestyle you choose to live), it can help you weight out your options of doing something either for the money or for the love of it.
